Based on the feedback here I cancelled a 3-nighter next month at Opera (for 3 rooms) and moved to the Hotel Astor. Saved quite a bit of money as the Opera is very expensive, and since I am only Gold chances of upgrades and EL are slim to none apparently. I won't bother then. Normally I'd go for something independent in Paris, but the promo is enticing.
