Sounds about right.
Always funny to see first time / infrequent SQ flyers come in here and (rightfully) complain about poor ground service. They make plenty of money from premium travel and couldn't care less about how they handle such matters. Been like that for years. Also, don't think that just because you're in business and paying for it that it makes any difference to them.
Surprised you didn't have some sort of travel insurance from one of the many US cards though? They will typically cover such claims.
