Although I can't solve most of these problems, I'd suggest unplugging it and removing the battery, plugging it back in and trying to reboot it without the battery.
Sleep and hibernate have caused me endless problems over the years -- with HP and Vista in particular. Assuming you're always running using the power cord, I'd suggest deactivating those features entirely and shutting it down when you're not using it.
