AMEX 100k Platinum Sign-Up: Odd Fee Charges $90 to link Corporate card to MR.
Hello folks -
Recently just signed up for the 100k AMEX Platinum that is quite popular.
HOWEVER, I am completely confused as to what I am receiving on my recent activity.
First - Let me clarify that prior to the AMEX Platinum I have an AMEX Corporate Account. This is a green card that says "American Express Corporate" on it, which doesn't even show up on my credit report since it is for my company. I am forced to use the corporate card when I travel. We have the option to start accruing points with the corporate card if we (ourselves, the employee) pay a $90 annual fee. It's worth it if you travel a bunch for work.
Now back to the AMEX Platinum - I signed up for this deal last week and received the card last week and immediately activated it.
Below is what I received:
New Platinum Card: $90 MEM RWDS FEE FOR CORP ACT ENROL
New Platinum Card: $90 CREDIT - MEM RWDS FEE FOR CORP ACT ENROL (??? Not sure why, they basically reversed the first one)
New Platinum Card: $90 MEM RWDS FEE FOR CORP ACT ENROL (Same Amount, same transaction? Screwed up the first one?)
Here is where it gets weird... I actually Received the Following Credit as well the day after activating my new platinum card:
My AMEX CORPORATE Account: $52.50 CREDIT - MEM RWDS ANNUAL PROGRAM FEE CREDIT
Questions:
1) Has anyone experienced this before?
2) Should I ask AMEX? Part of me says I'm not being charged $450 yet, so why shoot myself in the foot?
3) My main concern in relation to #2 is simply... would this be a red flag that I may not get my 100k points sign on bonus?
4) Any clue what the $52.50 credit is for on the Corporate account?
Thank you for any help.
