I was at the front desk of a Marriott once when I overheard another guest who was checking out discussing $1,000's of charges from the automatic electronic minibar in her room with the front desk manager. Seems that she was traveling with her husband and little toddler, and her little toddler liked to open the minibar and play with all the soda cans, peanuts, and mili liquor bottles, picking them up, putting them down, taking them out, putting them back in. Her husband thought is was a great way to keep the toddler occupied.

Needless to say, after the desk manager checked that the minibar attendant NEVER had to restock her room did they take the charges off the room bill.
