The most irritating ones are the newer electronic units that automatically charge your bill every time an object is removed. I often need to make room to store leftovers et al and really do not enjoy this hassle.
About two months ago, I was most annoyed to learn that the Embassy Suites in lower Manhattan has configured their rooms with these little electronic minibars in lieu of refrigerators, despite the fact that such refrigerators are what constitute part of the Embassy Suites "package". Many properties seem to have lost site of the fact that rooms should be configured for the needs of the guest, not for the pleasure of the hotel.
