Cathay's biz seats are a bit more private in every aircraft, so may not be suitable to you.

But if sitting together in business, lie-flat seats is all you're after, you can do much worse than AI/UA. Both have lie-flats too.

Can you please explain the following line you said?

If I book with UA miles, the flights are mostly like KTM-BKK-FRA-UA.

I think the Etihad with AA miles is better?
