I booked an award flight to Jordan using my Mileage Plus miles one month ago. Carriers are MS and TK; outbound travel Sept 23rd.
I now have to cancel the ticket because the passenger has not been able to obtain a visa.
Is there any way to avoid paying the USD 200 penalty to cancel the ticket and have my miles refunded? I thought the penalty would be lower, considering I'm cancelling over 21 days before travel date... But it doesn't seem to be the case.
