I guess I am looking too far out at the moment so should hold fire until Dec/Jan I think. I was trying to get everything sorted early as I managed to get a very good deal on the flights (from Poitiers-CDG-HKG-AKL) in business, also the exchange rate from £ to € on the day helped as my income is in £ but we live in SW France so paid in € and managed to hit the sweet spot before the rate went the other way.

I had the Shangri-La on the list as we've stayed at the Singapore property a couple of times (Garden Room) and really liked it although it was a bit of a walk to the shopping areas (we like to walk rather than keep taking taxis)!

This will be our first time in Hong Kong and are really looking forward to it and plan to do the waterworks walk and will be looking for advice on other must-do's nearer the time, I have read all the info in this section but there's a lot to take in.
