What would you do if your seat wouldn't lock upright?
I think what the captain was getting at was that he had no choice but to have it fixed but in truth it jeopardized no one so if he hadn't been notified you could have left on time. Not sure I agree with him as I probably would have said something to the FA as well. Although if the captain said it's just normal give I'd have let it go.
