Which one is a longer flight? KTM-AUH-ORD, KTM-HKG-ORD, KTM- BKK-FRA-ORD?
And if I have a young child and booking biz class, which one is better? We would like seats next to each other to see and help him if he wants.

I have booked ORD-HKG and a wek later, going to DEL and a week later to KTM.

I booked Cathy coach to HKG with AA miles. I haven't yet booked the next flights, I will most likely do BA avios on Cathy to DEL.

I don't see any other options for DEL-KTM flight on miles. United shows 20K miles for that 1 & half hour flight per person.

I thought I could use Avios on jetways but it's not the case. What do you think here?
You got a clueless AAgent. KA is a part of OneWorld and can definitely be booked on AA, award space permitting.
I'd try again.
Here's AA's official release: http://www.aa.com/i18n/utility/dragonAir.jsp

In terms of pure routing, the shorter flights will be in this order DEL<AUH<HKG<BKK.

All of the above carriers' business class will have an arrangement with at least 2 seats together, most likely in the center.

I'd say DEL-KTM should cost ~ $150 roundtrip on AI a month in advance and you could earn UA miles too. Not worth redeeming those number of miles to me.
