In theory, the maximum distance between two cities on the earth should be 1/2 the circumference of the earth, say about 20,000 km. In other words, there is only so far you can go before you start coming back.
Using the great circle flight path display calculator below, can you find the city pair separated by the largest distance?
My maximum was BUE (Buenos Aires)-PVG (Shanghai), for 19 632 km, via the South Pole.
Interestingly, BUE-PEK, for 19 436 km takes you over the Aleutians....
Can anyone do better?
