Rachel, those are nice seats - nothing wrong with them. from what I can gather, there doesn't seem to be a logic (eg minicabin goes out last/first) to the way TK agents asign J class seats over the phone - unless people ask for specific seats (like you did).
If you wanted to avoid the "Y class boarding parade" just take your time at the ORD lounge (probably UA?) and board last
you will still have plenty of room for your luggage and time to get settled in before takeoff. Enjoy!
