if you are redeeming in business class then ai is not bad value....some routes like hkg have very little yq while others like nyc, lhr, cdg have yq that runs into a few hundred usd ($200 odd for europe & $300 odd for the u.s.)....
redeeming in economy doesn't make sense on the international sector as very often you would find prices that are not too much higher than the yq amount....
jet on the other hand has no yq but charges a greater number of miles than ai....for a lot of routes its 1.5 or 2 times what ai charges....
