The plans seem very preliminary, but a developer has announced the intention to built a new Hyatt Centric hotel on the edge of downtown Minneapolis. This would be new constriction on Washington Avenue.
The maps (shown quickly on local TV news) look like it will be located near the intersection with Chicago Avenue, near the Mill City neighborhood and close to the existing aloft (Starwood) hotel. There's also a Renaissance Hotel and Residence Inn (Marriott) complex built into the Depot old train terminal on Washington Avenue a bit closer to the central business district.
No timeline has been given.
I would think they would want to have it ready for the start of the first Vikings season in the new stadium but I suppose that isn't likely given it is only a year away. If built, it would be a prime location for games.
