(he doesnt mind if he doesnt get any points).
If you are a diamond member then you can use the Guest of Honor program to gift him your Diamond status if using points from your account.

Otherwise its usually frowned upon on this board and most likely against the T&C's of the Hyatt program if you aren't staying in the room. However, the hotel might extend the diamond benefits as a courtesy if you ask at check-in or you might be able to find a way to circumvent the system.

Here's an extract from the Hyatt Terms and Conditions under the section: Earning Hyatt Gold Passport Points as a Registered Guest

7. Hyatt Gold Passport members may receive Hyatt Gold Passport points for up to three rooms (member's room and two additional rooms). Member must be a registered guest, occupy at least one of the rooms and pay for all three. Only the room occupied by the member will count toward tier status, current Hyatt Gold Passport promotions and receive program benefits and services. The occupant of the second or third room may not receive Hyatt Gold Passport points, airline miles or Amtrak Guest Rewards points, either at time of stay or retroactively.
