First of all, I know that the Diamonds on FlyerTalk are genteel, civilized, and utterly gracious and kind, with an impeccable sense of decorum. So, I'm talking about those OTHER Diamonds...

Past few months I've been buying up to First, and it's been great--

--except when boarding. I've never been so man-handled, shoved, pushed aside, and had my feet run over as I have been when boarding Premium. Every flight, without exception, Diamonds have pushed to the front of the Premium boarding line, past FC that is lined up and there were no Sky or Zone X gate lice to encourage that behavior. The Diamonds have often outnumbered FC pax on my flights, so the number of folks in Premium can be twice or three times the number of seats in FC. Fewer of the DMs, but still some, also put their bags in a FC bin, admittedly in a practiced, smooth motion as they continued back to their seats in the rear.

Having recently heard the GA at PHX talk about boarding Sky-Plat, then Sky-Gold because there were so many Sky, I'm wondering if it would make sense to separate Prem-FC and Prem-DM, let FC board initially and then the DMs come on next. I know there are arguments about DMs knowing more about getting settled quickly, and maybe some tension about "their" upgrade seats having been snapped up by FCM, but after having had one woman grab my arm and push me aside as she and her vacant-eyed offspring marched past to the tune of "We are Diamond and we go to the front," I'd vote for making FC boarding a bit nicer ... and less bruising.
