I was forced to book the maldives trip on April of this year on Jan right after they moved to cat 7 due to personal circumstances. And after half year later they bump it back down to cat 6. Generous? It would be ridiculous to ask for a refund after completing the stay at the rate you agreed to at booking. You paid the rate that was in effect both at the time of booking and at the time of the stay.

Suppose it were the other way around, and the hotel called you up and wanted to deduct more points from your account because of a category change after your stay. What would be your response?
