The plot thickens.
I called Citi this afternoon: (800) 695-5171 – Personal Application Status and Reconsideration Line with live rep (as shown in the Wiki).
Told the CSR that I had filled out an application online and it had errored out once I hit the submit button...so wanted to check and see if the application was received. (When I submitted, what I actually received was the denial and we'll notify you by mail why screen)
The CSR asked to confirm SSN, Name, and Birthdate. She then said "I see we received your application for a Citi EXEC MC on 8/21 and were approved, you'll actually be receiving the card in the mail in next day or two." She then went on to detail the 75K signup bonus based on spend, etc...without me mentioning or asking about it.
So we will see what the Welcome Letter says when it arrives.
