After years of getting ocean suites on 4 or above in the Poipu wing, we were put in one of those 1st floor suites that are pretty much below ground level. I hated it so much I asked for my points back and to put us in a regular room on a higher floor.

I was told that the hotel had to crack down on the suites they were giving away because so many people were using DSUs and points for them. Now it's only 1st floor suites as freebies.
