You will be treated as any other connecting passenger. There isn't any special consideration for "through" passengers (as you are in this case). They may hold the ATL-CDG flight if there are a lot of missed connections but my money is that flight will go out on-time or early (barring any other weather/mx issue).

Can you get an earlier MEM-ATL flight? What about connecting through another hub? Is there a later ATL-CDG available that you could get protected on? I would start planning contingencies now.
