DL 82 - same flight number - aircraft change - inbound delay - what will happen?

Hello FT'ers,

I'm on DL 82 from MEM to ATL to CDG today. Same flight number but plane change in ATL. The MEM to ATL segment is delayed by about 1 hour which will leave me very little time for making the connection to CDG in ATL (C concourse to E).

Given that the 2 flights are the same number, is there some special consideration made for passengers on the first segment making the connection to the second part? Or are we at the mercy of normal IRROPS procedures?

I'm a PM flying in J if that makes any difference.

Look forward to your thoughts!
