United only has pilot bases in the US. It is possible that some commute from overseas. But they only fly one type of aircraft at a time. So he can't fly the 777, then the next trip fly a 767. Those are different type ratings. (757/767 the same type rating though) So if he says he's based in the UK and on one trip flies the 777 and then the 767 on another, he's not a pilot.
Thank you Saxman - great info! I was sure about the 'home base' thing. I got the aircraft types because he Facebook posts from 'airports' that he is about to depart on flight XYZ and I look it up on FlightTracker to see the details. There is definitely a mix of the 3 types so as you say, he can't be telling the truth as he could only get away with 2 types (757/767) on the same rating.
Goodness knows what compels people to tell such ridiculous tales - and goodness knows where he actually is when he disappears for days!!
