Your EK silver gets you DXB lounge access even if not crediting your flight to EK. One advantage to crediting to QFF is 310 SC would earn you silver status which gets additional baggage allowance on QF flights (potentially worth a few hundred dollars if you need it to/from NZ). Otherwise it is a very minor earn on any plan so wouldn't fret about it too much.
