Boeing has been running an advertisement somewhere recently where it insists the INSIDE diameter of its 737 cabins are 6" narrower than the A320. They then state that its 1/2 inch per person. It seems like a lot more, and just the fact that they have to take ads "proving" that they have the better plane makes me think they don't. As they say there are statistics and there are statistics.
