Trading your currency on the street is the way to go if you want to get the absolute best exchange rate. Trading on the street is not for everybody, but for those considering this option you should read up on the various sourced on the Web and otherwise with tons of information, hints/tips and also many stories of how things went (both good and not so good).

Remember that in the event a street trade goes sour in any way, you have no recourse with any local authority as the blue market as such "does not exist". As has been pointed out before on various threads of this Argentina forum, the only available resource that's 100% legal would be to use a service like Xoom... unless of course the visitor is willing to open a Securities Account on-shore Argentina which would allow for the creation of a synthetic exchange rate by executing a series of security trades which include a change of domicile of the depository account.....
