I have two such books: "Day Hikes Around Tokyo" and "More Day Hikes Around Tokyo." I believe they are still on sale but they haven't been updated since around 1994. As a result, a lot of their instructions don't work anymore. But if you are willing to accept that you might end up somewhere where you didn't expect to end up, they can still be quite useful.
