I disagree. As I am due to get a CCR card rather soon, I won't be affected in the very near future, but I must say that in effect the main advantage I have seen in Gold was having separate, better lounges.

The idea that BA will improve lounge offerings across the board would be wholly unrealistic in my view, so the progressive extinction of F lounges will mean a clear downgrade of BA Gold, which, in turn, will undoubtedly be followed by a clear downgrade of BA Silver to artificially recreate a differentiation between the two....
