Regarding turbulence, guess I'm the oddball here. The only time I can sleep on a plane is when there's a bit of "light chop." But maybe, if the 380 really is that much more quiet, it might be OK.
While I can sleep when it's smooth, I also prefer a bit of chop to get to sleep (and stay asleep) better. Similarly I like to take overnight sleeper trains as the rocking motion is soothing.
