It is BA's corporate policy worldwide to say "No" to start with and if you
complain, come up with an excuse/explanation later

I have personally experienced this in many lounges and I now
do not complain. They must think we are stupid

To get back to BA I usually guest random people that I meet on
flights to BA lounge when I am allowed to guest
