Welcome
Rosie Lee 123 to this forum, with your love of cockney rhyming slang, your view that women need extra protection and grammar that suggests you spend a lot of your time talking to people - well I'm sure that you'll have lots and lots of other topics to contribute to, not just those supporting your new found love of black cabs.
Interestingly, even if your Uber driver's insurance had lapsed or just didn't exist, Uber have an over-arching insurance policy that would cover any problems you had as a result. Uber may have problems, but their drivers pay UK income tax - all their income is electronically recorded so can't be adjusted prior to tax submission time. Finally, I think bealine above is being ironic - you have no idea who you are getting in to a black cab with, it could be anyone who has taken one off the street - whereas with Uber you have a name, photograph & customer rating before you get in a car; and you have a way to follow-up and resolve issues after you get out. If your driver was rude, got lost or went on a rip-off of a route, then a quick email gets it sorted out - whereas in a black cab you don't even get a receipt with the plate number.
