"Good people"?! The same people who wouldn't take a fare south of the river or anywhere else that wasn't Knightsbridge or Kensington (or on the way home if they were knocking off) until they were forced to at the point of losing their badges?

You're 'avin a giraffe mate, as they would probably say...
The same people who only take cash, nothing to do with not having to declare the income of course.

By the way, it is estimated that over half of UK Uber drivers are "moonlighting" and do not have adequate insurance to cover fare-paying passengers. The cost of insurance for "fare paying passengers" would be IRO £3,000 pa for a Toyota Prius (UBER's usual conveyance) - that is where the savings are made.
Amazing, half of minicab firms in the UK are moonlighting? Or is the Uber minicab firm somehow different to Streetcars?

If I was getting my daughter picked up late at night, I know who I would trust!

I don't know any London cabbies, and they would charge about £1k to take me home to Manchester, but I certailny wouldn't let my daughter get picked up by John Worboys.

Black cabs are the go-slow thugs of the road. Overpriced, selective in who they pick up, arrogant about their knowledge and the Knowledge, nasty to other drivers, homicidal to bicyclists, bullying to competitors, they crawl across our cities in a puffed-up bubble of self-importance that has needed pricking for years.
First thing that needs to be done is get rid of black cabs from bus lanes.
