Lonely Planet Guides generally include very comprehensive food translations.

As for myself, i rather enjoy ordering soley based on making animal noises, guesswork or pointing at models of plated meals in a display cabinet.

Once in Japan I was handed a menu in Russian, clearly the owner thought that was more legible !

But not to fear you'll never go hungry as Pizza Hut or McDonalds are always easy in any language as a last resort.
