I guess people can bill me if I'm wrong since this keeps getting asked, but National actually does a good job in this case of stating that you do not have to rebook in the T&C below. A qualifying rental is a PAID RENTAL made after the date on which you register.
Points will be awarded for each qualifying rental made after the date on which the member registered and which occurs from August 20, 2015, through January 31, 2016. Credit will not be given for rentals made prior to a member's registration date. A qualifying rental is the paid rental, via the Emerald ClubŪ, of a Midsize or larger vehicle at participating National Car RentalŪ locations in the 50 United States, including the District of Columbia, for a period of two or more consecutive days during the promotion. You will only be awarded points for one rental out at a time, whichever one lists you as the primary driver.
