Worst was an early July AM arrival into MIA (~4.30am) - about 40 mins out of MIA - t'storms everywhere. Capt. had requested the FA's to prepare the cabin early, and had the seatbelt sign on. Suddenly we had a quick two jolts - everything went flying, including, unfortunately, 2 FA's - one knocked her head hard - briefly lost consciousness.
For some reason there was also an elderly lady in one of the lavs who, while uninjured, was so shaken (literally) that she complained of chest pains/shortness of breath. Ch. 9 was on, and the Capt. declared an emergency for the medicals and we got down FAST.
I've always been a fan of light to moderate turbulence (gives a little adventure to the ride) but when you get into severe chop like that - it loses its amusement value.
