Last year I spent a week in London. My choices were $550 a night for a Jr suite or a 1 bedroom flat for $250 per night. It was my first time renting a flat as opposed to a hotel and I was slightly hesitant, but the flat had only 5 star reviews. I found it great to have a full kitchen, and not have to pay $80 to do a load of laundry. I would do it again without hesitation.
