Almost never take car transfer unless very special situations like stepping off a long over-night flight, unsure if I will get a taxi, unable to communicate in the language or concern about personal safety. I just prefer to find my own way even if paid for by company expense. Much more flexible and easier to get around. Never been to FS Florence though so can't speak for that hotel but I probably prefer renting a car and exploring the area.
