The Four Seasons at 57 E 57th (how DID they get that address?) is one of the most dazzling hotels I have ever stayed in. You pay for your thrills, but if you book far enough ahead there are some "reasonable" weekend rates. Ask for a room facing 57th Street, and if you can get it high enough up (the price goes up past about the 16th floor) the view at night is nothing short of majestic.
