Not sure Flyer. AA/OW meets all of my needs being based in Rio. I can't really think of any AAdvantage of getting status or credit on another global carrier. I have status with the Brazilian carrier GOL which is helpful for in country flights.
I guess maybe crediting to BA for their short haul redemption advantage, but I other than that I don't see any benefits crediting elsewhere.
