So, I booked a room at MGM Grand in Las Vegas for the Madonna concert in October, using the MGM website.

Meanwhile, I was looking at the Hyatt Gold Passport website, and noticed that a number of Las Vegas Strip hotels, including the MGM, are offered as available hotels for booking reservations.

I emailed the HGP people and asked them to include my HGP number on my upcoming reservation. I included the reservation number from my MGM confirmation. HGP responds, saying they cannot find my reservation, and would like me to provide more information, including the city in which the hotel is located and the date of arrival.

Now, I'm confused. Is the MGM eligible for HGP points for a stay? If it's not an eligible Hyatt property, then why would their inventory show up on the Hyatt website?
