Just got back from an early lunch at Teaism in Dupont Circle--check it out if you like the offbeat. Great tea to purchase, too.

Another to check out for dinner or lunch, The Tabard Inn on N street. Always eclectic, always wonderful! So's the bar. If it's nice outside, you could also consider the Iron Gate Inn, just about across the street.

If you want a splurge, consider Vidalia on M street at 19th, new southern cuisine and 4 stars. So's I Ricchi on 19th...my fave for Italian.

All are walkable from Dupont Circle area.
