The US offering is weak, tiny pillows, gauze blankets, Envoy catering was more or less what AA IFS is now.
Can't speak for UA, but I'd also say DL offers a more consistent experience from a service aspect. DL FAs tend to be the best of the AA/DL/UA trio (with obvious conditional exceptions). That plus the superior aircraft and onboard amenities, plus superior ground experience at JFK's T4 (never thought I'd say that but in comparison to PHL, yes) and yes, I can definitely see preferring the DL product to the US one. When DL operates the 747, I don't think there's any question at all.
