Air France/KLM vs Delta on trans-Atlantic routes

I have been wondering about this for a while: why do AF/KLM treat their own Elites (Flying Blue Elite, Elite Plus) worse than Delta does on trans-Atlantic routes? FB Elites get free Economy Comfort+ seats on Delta flights, along with a chance of a free upgrade on any domestic leg of the journey. On AF/KLM? Essentially nothing, unless you are a Platinum member in which case you get the Economy Comfort seat for free. But for FB Silver/Gold, is there any incentive to pick AF/KLM over Delta? I don't see one. Is this just Delta being generous or does AF/KLM actually not care which plane their FB Elites pick?
