Thank you for the tip! We'll make sure to do this.

1) Do I have any leg to stand on for requesting that 9W rebook me on the AI flight in J as a substitute? I

don't expect the answer to be yes but want to be sure of that. No
2) How about with AA? AA may cancel and refund, rebook on AA or rebook OA at its option. As a

practical matter here, it will only route you on OW and you have no other options. Fortunately, AI sells the

route for as little as US$66, so it's doable.

3) Does anyone have any more information about the cancellation of all 9W flights to IXR? I can't find any

mention of this online, but the 9W published flight schedule definitely shows it. If both AA and

9W show it as cancelled, it's cancelled. You may, of course call 9W to confirm that if you wish.

Thanks for confirming the things that I suspected. It's an unfortunate situation, but understandable. We are

lucky that the AI flights are so cheap and will make those alternate arrangements.

or if you are going somewhere far from Ranchi which would also be accessible from another airport). It sounds

to me like the first option is probably as good as any.
Agreed on option (1) being the best choice. We're flying QR from the US and would definitely prefer their 787

for DOH-DEL than an A320 on DOH-CCU. Ranchi is our destination as it's where my girlfriend's family lives, so

we don't have many other options.

Thank you again to everyone for your tips and suggestions!
