Sorry, but I have to disagree with losing your preassigned seats any time you are late boarding.

If it's YOUR fault, then OK, you are supposed to be at the gate -- what is it, 10, 15 minutes prior to scheduled departure. Too bad for you, that's life.

On the other hand, if you are late because of AIRLINE delays, then your seat is sacrosanct!!

I would never move to another seat until the door is closed and the plane pushes back. This avoids those embarrasing moments.

And now I suppose I am going to get unpopuolar, but that's OK...listen, if anyone has a problem, allergy or otherwise, and need another seat, they need to square that with the airline rep. This DOES NOT MEAN THEY GET THE SEAT I RESERVED 4 WEEKS AGO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have NEVER refused moving so as to accomodate a couple/family (This is just good manners on my part) unless I was sitting in an exit row or it would involve me sitting in a middle seat. I don't think this is unreasonable. But please feel free to disagree.

And yes, keep your boarding stub handy. That is proof of your right to that seat.

Which brings to mind something that has happened to me twice. What do you do when you and another passenger are assigned the SAME SEAT?

Nothing to add personally here, it was resolved quite well in my cases by the FAs and everyone was happy. But in neither case was the plane full, and one time I kept my seat, the other time I got moved to a premium bulkhead seat further up. But there must be lots of interesting stories here by our other members.....

Anyone?
