On separate occasions, I have rented an Enclave and a Grand Caravan and had to haul people in the 3rd row. The Enclave was OK for short drives (less than 20 minutes) with 3 adults who were slim and less than 6 feet tall in the 3rd row. They looked pretty cramped, but it was fine for the short distances that we traveled.

The Grand Caravan made me realize just how much more useful the 3rd row is in a minivan. No complaints from the 3rd row passengers with the 45-60 minute drives that we had to do.

I prefer driving SUVs in general, but if I had to haul 6 or 7 adults, a minivan is the better choice, IMHO.
