Many others sensing they wont requalify say for reg Diamond want Hyatt to up the benefits to Plats so that they can reap alot more benefits, My answer to that is if it doesnt work for whomever simply move onto another program that does work

I dont think Hyatt wants to be another HH or MR, it wants to keep to its targeted customer within reason. Like an airline , doesnt want tons of kettles flying in its Biz or 1st cabins. It doesnt mind as much when a GS (for UA) or a person who buys Biz and 1st tkts cashes in for a free one. And that is what killed the airline programs, too many folks like me flying on the cheap and then cashing in for the Premium cabins who would never purchase those cabins otherwise (however I fly every year NY-Asia a few times in coach). Now those same folks are doing what they did with the airlines to the hotels = wanting to stay at The Creme de La Creme of a chains hotel w/o paying $$ to do so and yet end up in a suite and get tons of stuff comped.

Even better is reading thru the 'Hotel Compensation' thread on some sites where 'Hotel Profit' would be a better name for it as they try and figure out the most they can swindle out of a hotel for any mishap, at times asking for a full refund due to no electricity for an hour. A 100er who drops crazy #s probably wouldnt waste their time chasing down some compensation for anything that wasnt a major problem, while these other types are rubbing their hands together way before even checking in as they dream of the swindles they will beable to pull off
