Aer Lingus is not in Star Alliance. They are a United redemption partner, but they are also a BA and QF redemption partner.

EI award availability for Avios redemptions will not be displayed on ba.com -- and will not necessarily match the award availability shown on united.com; a call to the BAEC Service Center is required. (Very low surcharges when redeeming Avios for EI TATL flights; surcharges may be higher for intra-European redemptions.)
Ah sorry, I mispoke (mis-typed)...I meant that you can use United miles to redeem Aer Lingus flights (I think you also get United Mile redemption w/ Aer Lingus, no?)
