need good laugh from time to time - so are you saying AC should be re-nationalized to serve the public interest?

Would AC be able to gouge as they do on domestic operations if ownership rules were eliminated from the airline industry? We might actually see real competition in domestic market as foreign operators would see mainline routings highly attractive. and the excuse this would harm small communities can be resolved through public policy action, not by protecting for-profit operators.

Ottawa protects AC big-time through pension deferrals, bilateral negotiations, and remember only two so-called private companies in all of Canada have their headquarter location specified in federal legislation - the other being CN. And where do you think that location is for both - of course Montreal which panders to political sentiments and no more.

I fly plenty of AC/*A because living on westcoast, but needing to be in Central Canada routinely enroute to clients in EU, ME dictates my travel patterns - and client's do not wish to pay fortune with multiple airline bookings for one itinerary for my privilege to live where I do.

I absolutely agree that Canada deserves great airline service - but to suggest must be domestically owned is laughable - LOL.
