Maybe just lucky, but for the two multi-national I worked and traveled for this issue never once came up.
A lot of people (IMHO) who do not travel for work think it is all fun and games. There is enjoyment in business travel, but can also be a real pain in the a** sometimes and causes one to be away from home and family. Accruing miles / points is one small way to offset this pain.
Practically speaking, I am not sure how this would work to turn over miles / points to an employer. One general FF account that everyone books under - but then the name on the account cannot match all? Maybe individuals have to transfer miles / points to a general account, but again would think there are restrictions or fees in place.
Would be curious as well to hear from someone from a company that does this how it works in practice.
